Dinosaur Week!

I can't believe we are heading into our fifth week of LIVE online art classes! When I started this adventure with Robot Week, I didn't have any idea or plans to continue. But so many of you have joined the fun and, honestly, it's been such a joy for me that I don't see signs of stopping...at least not for a while. And that brings us to this week's theme Dinosaur Week!

We'll kick off Dinosaur Week with a Paleontologist Portrait. We'll either create a self-portrait of that of someone else. Simple supplies are all you need and if you see a supply on the list that you don't have, don't worry. I always offer lots of alternative supply possibilities.

Now that we are paleontologists, let's go digging for dino eggs! These fun moveable puppet-like eggs are easy to create and so fun to play with and create stories about.
I seem to bring back the salt dough clay each week but I know kids love it! If you don't have the ingredients to make the clay, any clay will do: Model Magic, modeling clay, playdoh, you name it!

What do dinosaurs eat?! Well, in this project, you get to decide! In this lesson, we'll make a mouth that pops open for you to draw whatever snack foods you wish to have your dinosaur munching on.
What if the dinosaurs...came back?! And roamed the streets of our cities? Let's make a pop-up city for our dinos to wander in. We'll create dinosaurs using cereal boxes and a TP tube!
If you'd like to join the fun, art class is free! You can catch it LIVE on my Instagram and my Facebook. You can always watch later on my YouTube channel. New videos added daily so you might want to subscribe. See you soon!

Pirate Week: Alligator Puppet and a Weekly Wrap Up!

Wow! I don't know about you, but Pirate Week was an absolute blast! So many of you joined the fun that I loved seeing photos of you and your children creating along with me. It means the world to me. Thank you so much for sharing! In case you missed out on making your own Alligator Puppet, here's the list of supplies you'll need:
And here's the how-to video:
In case you missed any of our Pirate Week adventures, I thought I'd do a recap of all of our projects here! I'll be sharing the videos here but if you want a list of supplies, you can check out this blog post.

There's what we created on Thursday...a crowd favorite: Treasure Maps!
I brought back the Salt Dough Clay recipe because it was such a hit during Zany Scientist Week. With it, we created the details on our Treasure Chest!
We constructed a Pirate Ship Collage with materials found around the home:
And we even drew ourselves as pirates when we created this Wanted Pirate Poster!
I'll be going LIVE again this week for...Superhero Week! Stay tuned for the projects I have lined up for us, I'll be posting later on today. You can catch me LIVE here on Facebook or on Instagram. You can also catch me later on my YouTube channel.

Wizard Week!

Every week, my amazing artists have been asking for a Wizard Week and I'm excited to share that it's here! This week I have a fun line-up with some surprises sprinkled throughout that you'll only know about if you join Art Class with Cassie LIVE!

To join me LIVE, you can find me on my Instagram or my Facebook at 11am CT. If you ever miss out, not to worry! All art classes are posted to my YouTube channel the very next day. I share videos there almost every day so you might want to subscribe so you don't miss a thing!

Like nearly every week, let's kick this one off with a Wizard Selfie! I'll share lots of different ways to draw yourself as a wizard.
Who doesn't want a baby dragon? If you don't have construction paper, white paper will work great too!
Every wizard needs a castle! Let's design and draw yours!
I've been getting a lot of unicorn requests so let's make one out of salt dough clay! I'll share with you how to make your clay first. No ingredients? Grab your Play-Doh or other favorite clay instead!
We'll end our week with some Potion Bottle Pop-Ups!
I hope y'all are as excited about this week as I am! Big thanks to our sponsors Art to Remember and Ticonderoga! Y'all are simply the best. Be sure and check them out!

Under the Sea Week!

Hello, friends! Who's ready for Under the Sea Week? I'm so excited to kick things off with a selfie that we'll be bubble printing on!

In case you don't know...you can join me for live art class on my Instagram page or my Facebook page. If you miss a class, no worries, I always post the lesson the following day to my YouTube channel. Here's what's in store this week:
Last week we explored a bunch of collage techniques for our hamburger. I thought we'd continue that by creating a Coral Reef Relief Sculpture!
Y'all know it wouldn't be a week of Art Class with Cassie without some salt dough clay, right? If you are low on supplies, any clay would work from Model Magic to Play-Doh.
What do sharks snack on? Let's draw what we think they might enjoy with this fun pop-out!
The kids have been BEGGING for a mermaid project so here we go! We'll do a fun printing technique for the background to create a tie-dye effect.
And here's the line-up! If you know some kiddos who would enjoy, please feel free to share. Also, big thanks to our sponsors, Art to Remember and Ticonderoga!

Superhero Week: Miniature Comic Book and a Wrap Up!

Well, that's a wrap for Superhero Week! We ended this adventure by creating our very own comic book! We used all of the skills we learned throughout the week and combined them in the drawing portion of our book. In case you missed yesterday's lesson, not to worry, here are the supplies you'll need:
And here's the lesson:
I thought I'd also share the lessons we did throughout the week. Here was what we created on Thursday: Superhero Costumes!
On Wednesday we had so much fun creating a Superhero Pop-Up Card!
Tuesday was spent creating an Onomatopoeia with salt dough clay.

Snack-tastic Chefs Week!

Who is ready for another week of art-making! I'm pretty stoked about this week as it is based on my favorite thing: snacks! And, despite the fact that I'm not such a great chef myself (have you even seen Season 3, Episode 3 of Nailed It!?), we are going to be BAKING COOKIES on Friday! Which is all kinds of funny as the judges spit out my cookie that I made on T.V. Let's just hope y'all don't do the same.

So get read for another fun week and be sure and share this with friends and family so they can join the fun too. We'll kick things off with a Chef Selfie!
On Tuesday, I'll be sharing a lot of paper folding and paper sculpture techniques in this Hamburger Sculpture project.
On Wednesday, let's make a Salt Dough Pizza!
On Thursday, I'll show you how to draw a 3-D cake! It's a piece of cake!
And on Friday, we are gonna bake! I'm so excited about this!

To join me live, you can find me on my Instagram and my Facebook page. If you miss the LIVE session, no worries. You can catch the video the next day on my YouTube channel! Be sure and subscribe. I'll be sharing lessons there (in addition to these) all week for Mother's Day!
See you real soon!
